FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 21, 2016 Bloomington, IN    The Youth Garden internships, supported by the George E. Archer Foundation, will begin in the spring of 2016 and continue through the summer until August. The interns will assist the Youth Garden Coordinator in conducting youth focused programs and maintaining the gardens, expanding MHC’s ability to offer quality garden education to youth community members.  Mother Hubbard's Cupboard (MHC) is the largest food pantry in the area, serving over 3,800 people per week.   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 1, 2015 Bloomington, IN  The Monroe County History Center had another successful Gayle Cook Junior Historian Program this summer.  One week of camp was “’Let Your Garden Grow’ Gardening Camp,” which was supported by a grant from the George E. Archer Foundation.  During the week-long camp, participating youth learned about the history of gardening from early settlement in Monroe County to World War II “victory gardens” to the “local foods” and sustainability movement of today.  The campers also took field trips to the IU Greenhouse and Wylie House Museum. ...
