  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 1, 2015 Bloomington, IN  The Monroe County History Center had another successful Gayle Cook Junior Historian Program this summer.  One week of camp was “’Let Your Garden Grow’ Gardening Camp,” which was supported by a grant from the George E. Archer Foundation.  During the week-long camp, participating youth learned about the history of gardening from early settlement in Monroe County to World War II “victory gardens” to the “local foods” and sustainability movement of today.  The campers also took field trips to the IU Greenhouse and Wylie House Museum. ...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 1, 2015 Bloomington, IN On May 1 at the Indiana University Biology Student Awards Ceremony, Briana K. Whitaker was named recipient of the $2,500 George E. Archer Foundation's Fred Seward Award for 2015.  George Hegeman, Professor Emeritus of Microbiology at Indiana University and longtime board member of the Archer Foundation talked with Briana immediately after the award ceremony.  Briana is a second year Ph.
