FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 17, 2015 Bloomington, IN:

Hoosier Hills Food Bank Gardening & Gleaning Coordinator Bobbi Boos accepts a grant check for $1,300 from Art Jacques, CFO of the Bloomington based George E. Archer Foundation. Bobbi was in the process of preparing planting beds for 250 lbs. of seed potatoes to be planted that day, Friday, April 17, Global Youth Service Day by 30 volunteers from Monroe County high schools. This planting is expected to yield up to 4,000 lbs. of potatoes which are always in high demand at the food bank. The Archer grant funds this project along with other planting days at Hoosier Hills Will Detmer Park Gardens. The grant will serve to not only increase the amount of fresh produce available to Hoosier Hills Food Bank but to also educate area youth in a variety of gardening skills.
